New Skoda Compact SUV Teased
Skoda tease a new compact SUV to add to the current Kodiaq and Karoq SUVs, a production version of the Vision X Concept to debut at the Geneva Motor Show.
What the world really, really needs is another compact SV from the VW Group, so you’ll be delighted to know that Skoda are busy teasing their new Compact SUV ahead of a debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
Based on the Skoda Vision X Concept we saw last year, the new Skoda SUV is the Czech take on the SEAT Arona and VW T-Cross, with SEAT promising it will combine all the advantages of an SUV with the agility of a compact car.
SEAT hasn’t come up with a name for the new SUV – although you won’t lose your shirt if you bet on it being a made-up name starting with K – and it seems likely it won’t differ too much in looks from the Vision X.
What also seems likely is that Skoda will offer a hybrid option for the new SUV not a million miles away from that found in the Vision X, which had a CNG/Petrol engine driving the front wheels and an electric motor at the back for extra grip and short EV use, complete with 48V electrics.
Expect another tease or three for the new Skoda Compact SUV before it debuts at Geneva.
