Hyundai TEASE a Frankfurt debut
Hyundai are teasing a new car they plan to reveal at the Frankfurt Motor Show, but apart from telling us it will ‘Go Big’ we know nothing.
Car makers to love a tease for a new car, but normally we have a pretty good idea what’s being teased. In fact, most of the time, by the time teaser photos and promos arrive in a press release we’ve already trailed what’s coming, and the car makers are effectively just confirming what’s already out there.
But Hyundai has us a bit flummoxed with their tease for a new Hyundai (image above) heading for the Frankfurt Motor Show in a couple of months.
Hyundai’s headline for the press release is “Hyundai aims to go big with all-new model for Europe” which, taken at face value, could mean a new big Hyundai. But that seems unlikely.
In fact, if you look at the teaser, the image appears to be the c-pillar of the new Hyundai, with a sloping roof and up swept line below, and the gap between what we assume is the trailing edge of the back door and the tail lights is rather small.
So we’re assuming the ‘Go Big’ bit refers to a small car with big car features. So what could it be?
It could be a European take on the Hyundai Venue, a small Crossover SUV already in Asia but not expected to come to the UK, or it could be a new i10. Or something else entirely.
No doubt Hyundai will continue to tease for a while yet before we actually find out what’s planned.
