Ford Focus RS gets 513bhp from Mountune
The new Mountune M520 MRX upgrade for the Ford Focus RS delivers a whopping 513bhp, with a lesser M450 Pack a still very substantial 444bhp.
If you think that what the Ford Focus RS needs is more power, then Mountune have some very good news for you.Depending on how much money you’re willing to spend, Mountune, the Ford tuner of choice, will upgarde your Focus RS to 444bhp or 513bhp. Yep, over 500bhp in a Focus RS.
The ‘lower’ power option means fitting the Mountune M450 Package which bins the Focus’s existing turbo and replaces it with a new turbo from Borg Warner specifically engineered for the Mountune RS.
That pushes the Focus RS up to 44bhp and 428lb/ft of torque, more than the new Mercedes A45 AMG can muster.
But the M450 Package is eclipsed by the M520, as it uses a more advanced EFR 7163 Turbo from Borg Warner as well as an uprated fuel pump, camshafts and valve train to deliver 513bhp and 516lb/ft of torque from the Focus’ 2.3 litre engine.
Mountune hasn’t given any performance figures, but you can probably expect the M520 pack to enable a sub-4.0 seconds o-62mph, and more flexibility thanks to the mountain of torque.
The M450 Package costs £2,950 and the M520 Package £5,975 and is available now from Mountune in Brentwood.
