Electric Porsche Taycan 4S – the ‘affordable’ electric Taycans start to arrive

The Porsche Taycan 4s arrives to deliver a cheaper entry-point for Porsche’s new electric Taycan, with prices starting from a more affordable £83,367.

The Porsche Taycan finally arrived in September as Porsche delivered the first production fruits of its electric future, with the Taycan Turbo and Turbo S delivering impressive performance and range, and some meaty prices.

The Porsche Taycan Turbo costs from £115,858.00, and the Taycan Turbo S from£138,826, but Porsche were always clear there would be more affordable Taycans too (although an affordable Porsche is relative), and they’ve been quick to reveal this, the Porsche Taycan 4S.

Continuing with the nomenclature familiar from ICE Porsches, the Taycan 4s comes with a 79.2kWh battery pack, although you can spec the bigger 92.3kWh battery pack from the Turbo and Turbo S, with the smaller battery pack delivering 429bhp and 472lb/ft of torque (and 522bhp with launch control) and the bigger battery pack 482bhp and 479lb/ft of torque (563bhp with launch control).

Both versions will get the Taycan to 62mph in 3.8 seconds and on to 155mph, with charging from 5 to 80 per cent available in a bit over 20 minutes (as long as you’ve ticked the 150kW charging option).

The Taycan 4S comes with adaptive air suspension, 19″ alloys, Keyless, red brake calipers and LED lights, and a few cosmetic differences from its more expensive siblings such as bumper tweaks, different side skirts and a black diffuser.

The Porsche Taycan 4S is now available to order from Porsche’s UK dealers with prices from £83,367 and first customer deliveries in January 2020.
