The new Apollo Intensa Emozione ‘IE’ HYPERCAR – a new car from what was Gumpert – gets teased on video ahead of a debut in Italy on 24 October.
Back in July we reported a tease from Apollo Automobil, a new Supercar maker which rose out of the ashes of Gumpert, for a new Hypercar – The Apollo IE. Or, to give it its full moniker, the Apollo Intensa Emozione.
All has been a bit quiet on the Apollo front since then, but today Apollo has started a tease in earnest with a new video (below) and the news that the IE will be revealed in Italy on 24 October.
Apollo are being a bit coy about revealing too much about the IE, but they do say it was created from scratch around a new bespoke carbon fibre chassis and is a return to the most organic form of the Hypercar.
Just 10 units of the IE are being built, and this iteration of the IE is for track use only, with Apollo delivering the ‘Time Attack’ program for owners at European tracks, rather in the mould of Ferrari’s FXX K outings.
But there will be a road legal version of the IE coming later, and Apollo want you to know that you’ll get first dibs on that if you stump up for the track car first. So now you know.
What Apollo aren’t saying is that the IE will be powered by a naturally aspirated Ferrari V12, according to our sources, and that each will cost in the region of £2 million.
Of course, that’s £4 million if you want the road car too.
