Design sketches released by Audi today of a concept heading for the 2014 Beijing Motor Show appear to show a coupe SUV – the Audi Q4.

Is this Audi Concept, heading for Beijing, the new Audi Q4

Audi are taking the ‘Design Sketch’ route for their tease of a new concept heading for this month’s Beijing Motor Show, which almost certainly portray a concept version of a forthcoming Audi Q4.
In fact, this new Audi Concept looks very like the Audi Allroad Shooting Brake Concept we saw at Detroit in January and points firmly to Audi looking to extend its reach in to ‘Lifestyle’ SUVs with more design than practicality. Which is no surprise – Audi love a niche, especially one that’s growing.
The Q4 Concept (if that is indeed what this is) comes with a statement six-corner grill, complicated-looking headlights, big air vents and a clamshell bonnet.
The roofline is distinctly coupe-like, the alloys are big, the wheel arches bigger still and the rounded back end gets twin exhausts and ‘quattro’ badging.
Take away the concept and design sketch fripperies and it looks like this is the new Audi Q4, or at least a concept of it.
