We’re hearing that 2011 production for the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 is already sold. But that could mean good news for Gallardo buyers?
With production of the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 likely to run at no more than about 1,000 cars this year, it’s not the biggest shock in the world that we’re hearing every single LP700-4 slot for 2011 is already sold out.
Whatever way you look at it, the LP700-4 does offer a remarkable set of performance stats, all wrapped up in a typically Lambo-esque body. It even gets a carbon fibre tub – long the preserve of the real high-end hypercars – and 0-60mph times that will spank the Huayra and have the Veyron looking over its shoulder.
And all this for around 25% of the price of either of those noted hypercars.
So with Aventadors all sold out for 2011, maybe you’ll decide you need a Lambo fix regardless, and opt for a Gallardo of one sort or another until P700-4s start to flow a little more freely. And if that’s your plan, you could be in luck.
We’ve been having a conversation with a major Lamborghini dealer of our acquantance (no, it’s not a UK dealer) who has been moaning to us that Lamborghini are forcing their dealers to buy two Gallardos for every Aventador order the factory accepts from them. Which should lead to some very good deals to come this year on Gallardos, as dealers struggle to shift stock they didn’t want.
Could be very good for Gallardo buyers, but not very good for Lamborghini dealers.
