Buick Encore video previews the new Vauxhall Mokka

The Vauxhall/Opel Mokka may not arrive until Geneva 2012, but we get a good look at what’s on offer in this Buick Encore video.

The whole ‘World Car’ phenomenon that’s sprung out of the mire of the financial woes of the US car industry does lead to a few anomalies. Like the Buick Encore being revealed in the States whilst Europe has only had a couple of photos of the Opel / Vauxhall Mokka ahead of its debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show in March.

But that anomaly does mean we get to see much of what’s going to be on offer in the new Mokka when it does officially debut, without having to suffer endless teases and arty photos to disguise what’s planned.

So as Buick has released a video of the Encore – and we’ve got a gallery of Buick Encore photos – it seemed a good idea to publish them so you can have a good look at what a Corsa SUV will offer. And it looks pretty good.

The Buick Encore gets a 1.4 litre turbo Ecoboost lump in the US with 138bhp and 148lb/ft of torque, although we will also get a 117b hp 1.6 litre and a 1.7 litre CDTi with 132bhp in the Mokka.

Specification on the Encore looks good, with FWD and 4WD on offer, 18″ alloys, Bluetooth and USB, Bose, SatNav, park assist and cornering brake control, although some of these goodies are optional extras.

The spec of the 2012 / 2013 Vauxhall Mokka won’t be exactly the same as its Colonial sibling, but close enough for the video and photos of the Buick Encore to give a good idea of what’s going to be on offer at Geneva in March when the Mokka arrives.
