Chris Evans and the ‘Magnificent Seven’ Ferraris – raising money for BBC Children in Need – arrived at Goodwood Festival of Speed and ran the hillclimb.
Every year the Ginger Ferrarista, otherwise known as DJ Chris Evans, relieves a number of comfortably-off people of ludicrous sums of money to drive a selection of glorious Ferraris.
It’s all done in a very good cause – BBC Children in Need – and the sum raised, for what is effectively a four day jaunt in decent Ferraris, is simply astonishing.
This year Chris and the Ferraris raised a whopping £1.1 million for Children in Need thanks to the generosity of those who bid to get one of the places in Chris’s Ferrari trip round South East England.
That trip culminated in the arrival of the Magnificent Seven Ferraris at the Goodwood Festival of Speed over the weekend, and their run up the Goodwood hillclimb.
On show this year were the SA Aperta and the 599 GTO, the F40, 250 GT Lusso, 275 GTB/4, 288 GTO and 365 GTC. Not all cars were Chris’s, although if it’s white it probably was and if it’s the SA Aperta – one of only 80 in the world – then that is Chris’s too, even though it gets a 250 TR-style paint job with historic Scuderia Shields.
Sadly, the Ferrari 250 GTO Chris bought last year wasn’t part of this Ferrari jolly. That’s because it’s gone off for a very extended spit and polish (18 months worth, apparently), although we can’t believe Chris would have had it running round in the hands of the auction winners even if it had been available.*
The Ginger One speaks in the VT below, and there’s a pile of photos of the Ferraris at Goodwood.
Well done all.
*Update: We were half right on this. The 250 GTO was at Goodwood as it has come home from its restoration (an 8 month restoration- not 18) but, as we suspected, Chris didn’t include it in the Ferraris being driven by the auction winners. And who can blame him?

So we don’t actually get to see any of the Ferraris hillclimb in the video?
Percy says
The 250 GTO might not be on the outing, but it appears to be in the video.
