David Brown Automotive Speedback Silverstone Edition
David Brown Automotive has revealed their Speedback Silverstone Edition, complete with 593bhp and classic racing influences. Just 10 being built at £745k.
David Brown Automotive has made a big success of its Speedback GT, managing to deliver an incredibly complete car with 1960s Aston Martin styling covering Jaguar XKR underpinnings and make it individual, rather than just a pastiche.
To celebrate that success, and in particular the anniversary of its move to new bespoke premises at Silverstone, David Brown is delivering a run of just 10 special models to celebrate – the Speedback Silverstone Edition.
Still based on Jaguar XKR underpinnings – themselves something of an antiquity already – David Brown has settled the supercharged V8 to deliver 593bhp, enough to get this retro GT to 62mph in 4.2 seconds.
Appealing the the additional power is, it’s what David Brown has done to the looks of the Speedback which is perhaps most appealing.
Influenced by 1960s motor racing, DBA has made the Silverstone look like a Stealth version of the GT, with 20″ ‘Afterburner’ alloys, mesh grille, wider sills, bigger spoilers and vents, a big drop in the chrome count and monochrome badging.
Inside it’s an appealing look of Brogued leather, with the back seats of the GT replaced by storage bins.
The Silverstone Edition is being built alongside the GT, but with just 10 being built you really need to shout if you want one, even at £745,000 each.
