Fiat 500 Anniversario arrives
The Fiat 500 is celebrating its 60th birthday this year, and as part of the celebrations Fiat has revealed the Fiat 500 Anniversario Special Edition.
Arguably, Fiat has made a better job of recreating the iconic original 500 for the 21st century than MINI has with its take on the original.
Perhaps that’s because the new 500 is a bit less gargantuan than the latest MINI, although if you’ve ever seen a modern 500 parked next to an original 500 you’d have struggled not to laugh at how much bigger the new car is.
Now, with the original 500 celebrating 60 years since its launch, Fiat is celebrating with a new Limited Edition model – the 500 Anniversario – which gets features inspired by the original, although it’s not the first 60th anniversary 500 from Fiat.
That includes new colours which are evocative of the 1950s – Sicilia Orange and Riviera Green – with chrome accents on the bonnet and mirrors, Vintage Fiat logos, 16″ vintage-style alloys and an Anniversario logo on the boot.
Inside it’s more retro too, with striped seats complete with body colour piping, body colour dash and ‘Anniversario’ embroidered on the mats.
Despite the retro style, modern necessities include Climate, Cruise, and rear parking sensors as well as optional stuff like the Tech Pack.
Engine choice is the 69bhp 1.2 litre, and you can have the 500 Anniversario as a hatchback or convertible.
Now on sale at Fiat’s UK dealers, the 500 Anniversario costs from £14,265.
