Not, we hasten to add, the new KA in the short it’s been on sale in UK. But in total the Ford KA, which really launched the whole sub-compact City Car niche when it launched in 1996, has racked up more than 500,000 sales in the UK.
And despite a few reservations when we did our Ford KA Review a couple of months ago, it looks set to continue racking up the sales with the new KA, which has already racked up 11,000 sales in the UK since it was introduced.
To be honest, our only real reservations on the new KA were a couple of subjective styling issues and the somewhat hard seats. But it is undoubtedly a funky and capable little car that will serve Ford well. The best selling model – as we predicted – is the KA Zetec, with the Diesel KA managing only around 4% of the total sales. Which is no surprise when you consider the price premium and how good the petrol Zetec is.
Well done, Ford. Another winner.
