Ford Ranger Pick-up gets updated for 2019
The Ford Range Pick-up gets a bit of an update for 2019 with an overhaul for its engine range, small cosmetic tweaks and new tech features.
The Ford Ranger is the best-selling pick-up in the UK, outselling pick-ups like the Mitsubishi L200, Nissan Navara, Toyota Hilux and more. And it’s getting updated for 2019.Top of the list of updates for the Ranger is on the engine front, with the Ranger now coming with Ford’s EcoBlue diesel engine – just like the updated Mondeo – with Ford promising it will improve economy compared to the now defunct 2.2 TDCi.
Ford is making the EcoBlue diesel available in three different power options in the Ranger, with a 128bhp version with 251lb/ft of torque, a 168bhp version with 310lb/ft of torque and a range-topping version with 210bhp and 369lb/ft of torque.
Standard fit for the new diesel is a six-speed manual, but if you’d rather give your left foot a rest you can opt for Ford’s 10-speed auto ‘box on the all but the lowest power diesel.
There are a few cosmetic tweaks including a new front bumper, new grille, Xenons, new colour options inside and out and a new tailgate.
Technology updates include a 10-device wifi hotspot, a new App, Active Park Assist, Pre-Collision, Intelligent Speed Limiter and Pedestrian Detection.
The 2019 Ford Range arrives in Ford’s UK showrooms mid-2019.
