The Grand Tour Series 2 kicks off in Switzerland with ICE, Hybrid and EV Supercars
Clarkson, Hammond and May’s The Grand Tour Series 2 starts this week and features the crash Richard Hammond had in Switzerland in the Rimac Concept One.
The first series of Amazon’s The Grand Tour – the ‘New New’ Top Gear with Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May – was a bit of a curate’s egg, but when it was good it was very good. Now Series 2 of the Amazon best-selling show returns this week (it starts Friday 8 December) with some tweaks to the format and some very interesting footage.
The tweaks we know of are stuff like the end of ‘The American’ as a Stig replacement, and real celebrities on set – a set that is now fixed in the Cotswolds – instead of the dead celebrities we saw in Series 1 (or didn’t).
Episode 1 of Series 2 will feature the trio of middle-aged codgers off to supercar hating Switzerland to play with a Lamborghini Aventador S, Honda NSX and Rimac Concept One – respectively V12 ICE, Hybrid and EV Supercars.
What it will also feature – to some degree – is the massive crash Hammond had at the wheel of the Rimac as he lost control and disappeared down the side of a hill.
The ‘Real’ celebrities on show in this first episode are the Hoff and Ricky Wilson in a ‘Celebrity Face Off’ challenge.
