Hyundai planning Tata Nano competitor

The Hyundai H800 India

The Hyundai H800 India - a Tata Nano Competitor

Hyundai are reportedly planning a Tata Nano competitor with an 800cc engine. Codenamed the Hyundai H800 it will cost under £3k when it goes on sale.

Hyundai are certainly on a world domination quest and are making serious inroads in to the quality market in Europe. New cars like the Hyundai ix35 are bring serious competition to the VW Tiguan and the Ford Kuga, and next year’s Hyundai i40 is going to give Ford a few sleepless nights over the impact oin Mondeo sales. Maybe that’s part of the reason for the Ford price cuts just announced.

But it’s not just the quality market in Europe and the US that Hyundai are chasing – they want the volume market too. And one way to go for the volume market in a big way is to come up with a rival for the Tata Nano, the car that’s getting India in to four wheels in a big way with a starting price of just £1,750.

According to Indian Autos Blog, Hyundai in India are working on an entry level Hyundai to take on the Nano, pitched at around the 2 Lakh mark (a Lakh is 100,000 Rupess and converts to around £3,000). Not as cheap as the Nano’s starting point but cheap enough to take a sizeable chunk of the market if it offers enough.

Hyundai aren’t saying anything officially – and the picture at the top is a rendering from IAB – but the project certainly makes sense. It’s claimed that the Hyundai will be powered by an 800cc petrol engine and that prototypes will be out and about by the summer. It even has a name – The Hyundai H800.

Speculation, yes. But we buy it.

It is a wonderful news from Hyundai cars to produce small cars under £3000/-. In my personal view it will be sold like hot cakes all over Europe in millions. Even if Tata Nano car is £1000/- range, people in Europe would prefer Hyundai car because I think its specification and durability would be much higher than Tata Nano. Because when you drive Tata car any of their range, before car has done 100,000/- kilometers that is roughly 60,000/- miles its engine requires complete reconditioning and in Europe it would be very expensive. On the other hand Kia, Hyundai etc. give 100,000 miles guarantee.
There fore Tata cars are are not very reliable as compared to other foreign cars.
    These are true facts.
But if any car company wish to produce electric cars that does not need recharging after a few hundred miles then THEY MUST USE MY METHOD OF PRODUCING ELECTRICITY for the development AND USE THOSE GENERATORS WITHIN THE SYSTEM OF ENGINES. THEY CAN BE FOR THE USED OF VERY SMALL CARS OR VERY LARGE CARS. SIZE OF THE CAR DOES NOT MATTER.

There is a big problem with the TATA NANO car hand over to the people who have paid for it.Because even after paying for the car there is no guarantee that you would get it. One can only get it whose name comes out like a lottery, out of thousands of people and not on the payment basis.
THIS IS HIGHLY UNFAIR DISTRIBUTION OF SOLD CARS.
It is very good idea that Hyundai will come out with a rival even for £3000/-.
Then Tata will improve its quality, Quantity, and fair distribution of Nano cars and may increase the price as well to match Hyundai car when it comes.
But still better if they produce electric cars small or big by by developing and using my system of electric power.
