These bits of Infiniti info are cropping up a lot at the moment as Nissan is busy launching its Lexus-competing brand in to European markets. Today it’s the turn of the Infiniti EX37 – a compact version of the Infiniti FX37 we gave you details on last week.
We reckon this Infiniti will do better here and in Europe than it’s big brother the G37 (and G50). It’s a compact crossover/coupe/SUV that is aimed at BMW’s X3 and Audi’s Q5. But only at the high-end versions of those, as the Infiniti EX37 comes equipped with just one engine – a 3.7 litre 316bhp V6 that can push this 4×4 to 60mph in not much over 6 seconds.
It handles well too. The suspension is not soft and wallowy, but nor is it rock-hard and unforgiving. It’s a chuckable car, but with the Japanese failing of a lack of communication. The steering is a bit lifeless and you don’t feel connected. But it works well, and will get a few people who were considering a German compact SUV thinking.
As you would expect it comes loaded with a lot of kit, including keyless entry, Bluetooth, iPod connection, privacy glass, big alloys and a seven speed auto ‘box.
Deliveries of the E37 start in September in the UK with prices starting at £35,200. There is a shed-load of information in the press release for the Infiniti EX37 – so take a look if you want the minutia.
