Infiniti QX30 UK PRICES announced

The Infiniti QX30, Infiniti’s higher-riding crossover, will cost from £29,490 in the UK with 4WD and 2.2 litre diesel engine. On sale summer 2016.

The Infiniti QX30 arrived at last year’s Los Angeles Motor Show as a high-riding take on the Q30 (although the Q30 is already a high-ish riding crossover) and will go on sale in the UK in the summer priced from £29,490.

The QX30, along with the Q30, is Infiniti’s first foray in to the compact market, and the offerings do seem to be a little confused, even if they are entirely credible.

Based on the underpinnings of the Mercedes A-Class, the Q30 is already a higher-riding take on a compact crossover, and although the QX30 rides even higher, it’s being marketed as the crossover take on the Q30.

As part of that ‘capable’ crossover theme, Infiniti are only offering the QX30 with the 2.2 litre diesel with 170bhp, all-wheel drive and a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox, together with some cosmetic tweaks like butch bumpers, wider wheelarches and roof rails, with suspension tweaked for more ability of rough roads.

The QX30 will be offered in two trim levels – Premium and Premium Tech – and although Infiniti hasn’t released real details of what each trim level will offer we do know the Premium spec will include Climate, Sat Nav and Forward Collision Warning, and that the Premium Tech will get Nappa leather, electric seats and a rear camera with parking sensors.

At £29,490 for the QX30 Premium and £33,370 for the QX30 Premium Tech, the prices are comparable to the equivalent Mercedes GLA 220d, and do offer an interesting alternative too.

The new Infiniti QX30 goes on sale officially in the UK in the summer.
