With the Beijing Motor Show starting next week – and the Lamborghini SUV due to debut – Chinese media claim it will get the Urus badge.
We’ve had plenty to keep us amused with the new Lamborghini SUV, including a review of Lambo’s SUV from an American Lamborghini dealer who’d been to a private viewing. We’ve also had a number of guesses at the name including MLC and Deimos, but now the Chinese media are claiming it will actually be called the Lamborghini Urus.
Regular readers may remember we reported that the Lamborghini Urus would be Lamborghini’s answer to the Ferrari F70; a hyper version of the Aventador to answer Marenello’s new Enzo when that arrives. But with Lamborghini on the ground in Beijing it seems plausible that Chinese media may have an inside line.
So if Lamborghini are going to call their SUV the Urus, what of the hyper Aventador? Well, our sources still say its coming – and it’s not the Aventador J we saw recently – but it could be that it will get the Deimos moniker instead of Urus.
Either that, or the Chinese motoring media have got hold of the wrong end of the stick. We should know by the weekend.
