Jaguar Land Rover cars in James Bond SPECTRE – RRS SVO, Landie Big Foot & C-X75
Jaguar Land Rover has confirmed that the new James Bond film, SPECTRE, will feature the Jaguar C-X75, Range Rover Sport SVR and Defender Big Foot.
We know for certain that James Bond will be driving an Aston Martin DB10 in the new SPECTRE film and, as we reported last year, we were pretty sure the Bond Villain would be behind the wheel of the Jaguar C-X75.The news that Bond will be in a DB10 was official, but the news that the Bond villain would be behind the wheel of Jaguar’s still-born C-X75 hypercar wasn’t – until now.
Jaguar Land Rover has revealed that not only will the C-X75 be going head to head with the DB10, but that there’s also a Range Rover Sport SVR and Land Rover Defender Big Foot strutting their stuff all over SPECTRE.
The C-X75 will feature in a major chase sequence with the DB10, but it won’t be the hybrid version Jaguar planned to launch, but a car fettled by Williams Advanced Engineering, which we think has Jaguar’s 5.0 litre supercharged V8 under the skin.
The Land Rover offerings for SPECTRE come in the form of a heavily modified Range Rover Sport SVR and a Land Rover Defender Big Foot, built by JLR’s Special Vehicle Operations complete with 37″ off-road wheels and tyres, bespoke suspension and extra body protection.
It’ll all mean lots of screen time for Jaguar and Land Rover’s finest, although we do wonder if pitching the C-X75 against the DB10 will simply enhance the appeal of Aston Martin whilst diminishing that of the Jaguar.
