New Jaguar F-PACE (pictured) already has 25,000 orders
The new Jaguar F-PACE is about hit Jaguar’s showrooms with 25,000 orders already in the bag and a big shift to a female buyer demographic.
It’s taken Jaguar a long time to get in to the SUV market (sorry, the F-PACE is a Crossover, not an SUV), but the new F-PACE is about hit showrooms and looks set to be Jaguar’s biggest ever seller.
Despite almost no one having the opportunity to drive before they buy, Jaguar already has 25,000 orders for their new crossover, and a big chunk of those are coming from female buyers.
In fact, around a third of buyers for the F-PACE are female – twice as many as normally buy Jaguars – and as much as 90 per cent of the sales are to buyers new to Jaguar.
It seems Jaguar has hit the Zeitgeist with the F-PACE, delivering a car that’s cool for dads and for mums, and offers a properly practical side to its sporty nature too, with plenty of practicality and space to go with driving dynamics that look likely to challenge even the Porsche Macan.
The biggest headache for Jaguar with this level of orders is going to be production – and managing buyers’ delivery expectations – but it’s a good problem to have.
Orders may not be quite in the same league as those for the Tesla Model 3, but this level of interest in a car that’s not yet hit the roads could finally see Jaguar start to challenge the dominance of Land Rover in the JLR realm.
It will also ensure Jaguar will be working hard to deliver more crossovers to sit below and above the F-PACE.
