Jaguar F-Type Project 7 gets the David Beckham seal of approval
The British press are reporting that ex-footballer and world ‘Brand’ David Beckham has acquired one of the few Jaguar F-Type Project 7 cars.
It was only earlier this month we reported that one of the 250 Jaguar F-Type Project 7 cars was up for sale on eBay, and when it sold it attracted a substantial premium on the list price.
But perhaps if the seller had waited, he could have added a bit of celebrity gloss to the Project 7 F-Type which may, or may not, have added to it’s attraction – and its price.
According to reports in the British press, David Beckham, ex-footballer, global brand and husband to Victoria, has got his hands on one of the 50 Project 7 cars available in the UK.
The reports vary about his acquisition of the car – with some reporting it’s a loaner from Jaguar Land Rover and others that he’s bought it – but it really doesn’t make much difference to the enjoyment he’ll get out of it. And even if he’s bought it, we doubt the £135k price tag will prove too painful.
The F-Type Project 7 is a great weekend toy; quick, nimble, good looking and perfect for blatting out in to the countryside for a Sunday pub lunch.
With its 567bhp from a 5.0 litre supercharged V8 – good for 62mph in just 3.8 seconds – we’re sure David will have a blast, and with only a couple of seats it’ll either be a blast out with ‘er indoors, or with one of the children. But it’s certainly not a car for a family outing.
But then we’re sure he has plenty of other options if he needs to ferry his brood.
