This Jaguar F-Type Project 7 is up for grabs on eBay
A Jaguar F-Type Project 7 – the first Jaguar special from JLR’s Special Vehicle operations – has turned up on eBay in the USA – and looks like it’ll make a premium.
Last summer, Jaguar revealed the production version of the F-Type Project 7 – first revealed as the Project 7 F-Type Roadster Concept – at the Goodwood Festival of Speed as the first Jaguar from JLR’s new Special Vehicle Operations.Jaguar were offering just 250 Project 7s, with a UK price of £130,000 and a US price of $165,000. And, with just 250 being built, it seemed a possibility that the F-Type would not just be a lot of fun – and look great – but also be a decent investment.
And, if an eBay auction is anything to go by, an investment in the Project 7 looks to have been a decent one.
With just 13 hours to go, one of the 50 Project 7 F-Types that made it across the Pond is currently standing at $195k (admittedly with just a single bid), a decent return for whoever stumped up the $165k in the first place (which was probably a bit more with options).
This particular Project 7 car comes in the same green as the launch car complete with all the appealing bits that made it special, like the 567bhp supercharged V8 – good for 62mph in 3.8 seconds – tweaked suspension, ceramic brakes and, of course, the Speedster body style with its D-Type inspired hoop behind the driver.
The starting price for the Project 7 was just $100k, and it remains to be seen if the $195k bid is for real. If it is, then maybe the Project 7 F-Type will turn out to that real rarity – a modern car that proves to be a proper investment.
