Jaguar I-Pace is now an ELECTRIC Nurburgring Taxi

Jaguar has added the I-Pace electric SUV to its Nurburgring Race Taxi offerings, with rides round the Green Hell now an almost silent event.

Jaguar, and other car makers, offer thrill ride round the Nurburgring with Race Taxi rides giving up to three thrill seekers the chance to lap the Nurburgring as passengers driven by a proper race driver.

Until now, Jaguar’s offering was the chance to take a thrill ride in the Nurburgring record-holding Jaguar XE SV Project 8, but now there’s a new kid on the block – the electric Jaguar I-Pace.

Jaguar say the I-Pace is the first all-electric Race Taxi to be offered at the Nurburgring, and it looks set to offer a very surreal, almost silent, thrill ride round the track.

Performance is not quite up to the Project 8 car, but the I-Pace has a good turn of speed, can hit 60mph in 4.5 seconds, and its big wodge of torque will play a part too.

We’re not entirely sure how much a flat-out run will take out of the Jaguar’s 90kWh battery, but Jaguar are clearly confident it’ll be at least enough for the I-Pace to do it with no problem.

If you want to play, you’ll need to book up without delay as places are limited and are only being offered, so far, until the Nurburgring takes its winter break at the end of November.
