Jaguar has signed up David Beckham as a Brand Ambassador to spearhead a new marketing campaign for Jaguar in China.

Jaguar sign up David Beckham as the face of Jaguar in China
Land Rover had a go at making Victoria Beckham the face of the Range Rover Evoque, and now Jaguar have taken Mr Spice on board as their new face of Jaguar in China.
Beckham has a combination of appealing traits that make him the perfect fit for promoting the Jaguar brand; he’s a good looking, stylish, a very able sportsman, recognised the world over, a great family man and an all round decent guy.
Bob Rice, JLR’s MD in China, said:
We are absolutely thrilled that David will be an ambassador for Jaguar in China. David Beckham is a Briton whose achievements mean he has global popularity and he is someone who embodies contemporary British style and sophistication.
He is a truly modern, British individual with a genuine passion for design, innovation, performance and driving.
To kick things off, Beckham will feature alongside the new Jaguar F-Type Coupe (above) as Jaguar push their halo car in China, but in time Beckham’s role will be to promote all things Jaguar in China.
The man himself said:
I’ve always been an admirer of Jaguar – from the styling and design to the feel and roar of the engine, every element feels uniquely British.
I love the classic E-Type of the 60s and today this legacy is alive in the phenomenal F-TYPE Coupé, a car that epitomises British craftsmanship. It’s an honour to support a brand with such an amazing heritage and I look forward to being part of Jaguar’s exciting future in China.
We’re not entirely sure the words are entirely David’s, but the sentiments are right; what English petrolhead – and David Beckham is very much an English petrolhead – doesn’t love what Jaguar is doing at the moment, and it’s history?
We can see the Beckham/Jaguar deal getting bigger than just China, but for now the print campaign will be running on billboards across China with a TV advertising campaign following later in the year.
