The Jaguar XK Artisan SE arrives as the UK's Special Edition XK

The Jaguar XK Artisan SE is the XK Special Edition – coupe and convertible – for the UK, with luxury trim and extra toys.

Yes, we have a feeling of Déjà vu writing this story, just as you do as you read it. But that’s because we ran a story the other day about the Jaguar XK and XKR Special Editions, which has managed to cross over with this story.

Jaguar told us on Wednesday that they were producing Special Edition versions of the XK and XKR – coupe and convertible – that would get special luxury trim and extra toys. Unfortunately, they forgot to tell us that the UK will only get the naturally aspirated XK Special Edition, not the S/C XKR Special Edition, so that’s why you’re getting a new story on the XK Artisan SE.

Apart from the minor confusion, everything else stands. The interior of the Artisan SE gets posh leather with ‘Scaraffato’ finish, new veneers and a choice of a couple of bespoke colourways. There’s also a 525w Bowers & Wilkins system, keyless, 16-way adjustable heated electric seats and heated steering wheel

Outside there are new 20″ alloys and a new colour – Celestial Black – just for the Artisan SE (but don’t bet against it turning up elsewhere at some point), The Artisan SE costs £77,350 for the coupe and £82,500 for the Convertible.

Eagle-eyed readers will notice that the front shot of the XK Artisan SE is the exact same shot as the XKR Special Edition that’s had a trip through Photoshop to remove its ‘R’ logo and give it a chrome grill.

Still, saves taking more photos. Always assuming, and it’s a big assumption, the photos were ‘taken’ in the first place.
