Jeep Renegade, Cherokee, Wrangler and Grand Cherokee 75th Anniversary models
Jeep has revealed new limited edition models of the Renegade, Cherokee, Wrangler and Grand Cherokee to celebrate 75 years of Jeep.
We have no problem with car makers celebrating historic milestones with limited edition models especially when, as is the case here with Jeep, they were pretty much the originators of the four-wheel drive, mass-production car with the Willys Jeep.
That’s 75 years ago, so Jeep have been busy titivating their UK range – Renegade, Cherokee, Wrangler and Grand Cherokee – to create 75th Anniversary models, although it would have been nice if what was on offer was more than a cosmetic tweak or three.
Still, with a quartet of 75th anniversary models to play with there should be something for everyone, although the Grand Cherokee and Wrangler versions won’t be available until later in the year.
All the 75th Anniversary models get a 75th Anniversary badge, bronze wheels, orange exterior highlights and seats with the ’75th Anniversary’ logo stitched in (well, apart from the Renegade).
The Renegade gets a Jungle Green paint job, 18″ alloys, MySky sunroof, roof rails and fabric seats in black or Black and Sandstorm with Tangerine stitching, with the option of the 1.4 litre MultiAir with nine-speed auto or the 2.0 litre MultiJet with either manual or auto gearbox.
The Cherokee gets a Recon Green paint job, Nappa leather with Tangerine/Pearl stitching, 8.4″ UConnect Infotainment, bi-xenons, panoramic roof and heated steering wheel and the 2.2 litre Multijet 200 with either Jeep Active Drive I 4×4 system or Active Drive II with two-speed power transmission units and low mode.
The Wrangler comes in Sarge Green with a body-coloured grille, power dome bonnet, Sat Nav, premium sound, Ombre mesh leather, body-colour dual top and either the 2.8 litre 200hp turbo diesel or 3.6 litre 284hp petrol engine.
Finally, the Jeep Grand Cherokee 75th Anniversary gets a Recon Green paint job, 20″ alloys, Sat Nav, Adaptive Cruise, Quadra-Lift air suspension, Nappa Leather and the 3.0 litre V6 MultiJet 250hp petrol engine.
Prices for the 75th Anniversary range are £26,795 for the Renegade and £38,945 for the Cherokee, but Jeep hasn’t decided how much to charge for the Wrangler or Grand Cherokee yet.
Damien Dally, Jeeps’ UK boss, said:
It’s a Jeep tradition to celebrate key anniversaries, and 2016 is no exception.
Born in 1941, the Jeep brand has a rich heritage which this new line-up of special cars brilliantly acknowledges.
One of the special features of these 75th Anniversary cars will be the unique green colours, but the choice does not stop there. There are several other paints to choose from, along with a range of options which will help owners to make their special cars even more distinctive.
All the Jeep 75th Anniversary models are now on sale at Jeep’s UK dealers.
