Koenigsegg’s 1500bhp Regera Hybrid first customer car
The Koenigsegg Regera 1500bhp hybrid hypercar debuted at Geneva in 2015, and Koenigsegg are taking the first two customer cars to the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.
It’s two years since the Koenigsegg Regera was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show as a stunning Koenigsegg hypercar complete with three motors, chunky batteries and a usable power of at least 1500bhp.Now the first customer cars are ready, and Koenigsegg is taking then to this year’s Geneva Show to show what a production Regera looks like and so the other 78 lucky buyers can see the reality of their order too.
The near 1800bhp the combination of electric motors and Koenigsegg’s own V8 produce individually translates in to at least 1500bhp of usable power, enough to get the Regera to 186mph in 10 seconds. Yes, 10 seconds. To 186mph.
Yest despite the Regera’s very modern powerplant – and its very innovative Direct Drive System – the first customer Regera comes in a modern take on that most traditional – and British – combination of British Racing Green and Tan interior.
In fact, the British Racing Green is a green tinted clearcoat which allows the carbon weave to show through, and the interior’s Saddle Brown leather has a combination of basket weave and flat leather covering everything.
This car also gets Koenigsegg’s Tresex hollow-core carbon fibre wheels for a 40% saving in weight.
The second car comes in a more dramatic candy apple red with a clear carbon centre, with air intakes finished in clear carbon too, and a black leather interior with highlights in Lingoberry. It also gets Koenigsegg’s Tresex alloys.
The cars look spectacular, and the technology is bespoke and ground breaking. Which should have the other 78 buyers of the Regera chomping at the bit to get their hands on their own car.
