One thing the bonkers KTM X-Bow isn’t short of is power. But that hasn’t stopped ABT Sportsline from producing a performance pack for the X-Bow, which KTM has endorsed.
ABT Sportsline has plenty of experience with VW lumps, having worked on the X-Bow’s 2.0 litre VW turbocharged lump before. This power upgrade takes the standard X-Bow from 240bhp to 300bhp, and also increases the torque by 40% to 290lb/ft. The result of the tweaking is a 0-60mph time of 3.5 seconds, an improvement on the stock car of nearly half a second. The power to weight ratio also improves to a none too shoddy 380bhp/ton.
The ABT Sportsline upgrade is pretty good value too, at £5,300 including the VAT and fitting. It’s also completely supported by KTM, has no warranty implications and can be retro-fitted to existing KTMs. But a small word of caution. The KTM X-Bow is already a bit of a handful. With this upgrade fitted it could become a nightmare. Still, even nightmares can be fun!
So if the standard KTM X-Bow isn’t quite bonkers enough for you, it’s probably time to raid the piggy-bank.
