Lamborghini Tease ‘Super Sports Car’ REVEAL – a Hybrid Huracan?
Lamborghini are teasing a ‘Super Sport Car’ Concept ahead of a reveal on Monday 6 November at MIT’s EmTech. A preview of a hybrid Huracan, perhaps?
Lamborghini love a limited edition, stupidly expensive car, but the Lamborghini ‘Super Sports Car’ teased ahead of a reveal on Monday 6 November looks to be a concept signposting Lamborghini’s future instead. The Lambo teased has been jointly developed with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and will debut at MIT’s EmTech Conference Centre and is, almost certainly, the first step in a hybrid future at Lamborghini.
The promise is the reveal of the sports car of the future, and with MIT’s involvement the only thing that really makes sense is that this is pointing towards a proper production hybrid supercar.
Lamborghini has been here before, of course, with the Lamborghini Asterion Concept a couple of years ago, and although that promised almost 900bhp of plug-in powertrain, it was a Lambo which looked more like a Ferrari 612 than a mid-engine Lambo.
But the teaser image above does look like a mid-engined Lamborghini, from what we can see, so that suggests this is a pointer towards a hybrid Huracan arriving with the next generation Huracan, due in three or four years, which should feature solid state batteries.
All will be revealed on Monday. At which point this could turn out to be a stupidly priced limited edition Lamborghini after all.
