Maserati has launched an online configurator for the new Maserati GranCabrio recently released at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
Earlier this month Maserati launched their four-seater GranCabrio to the world at the Frankfurt Motor Show. An elegant and sexy Italian Convertible and, so say Maserati, the longest wheelbase convertible on the market. Presumably if Mussolini were still around he’d be first in the queue. After all, the rule is that only fascist dictators are allowed to sit in the back (or stand – depending on the occasion) of a four-seat convertible. And if Il Duce were still in charge he’d probably love the configurator for the GranCabrio that Maserati has just put live online. You get the usual options for the exterior with colour, wheels, callipers and soft-top configurable. The interior gets similar treatment, with everything from the seats to the seatbelts open to your own input. You can also spec up options like comfort seats and Bose; have a look at your finished configuration and even listen to the sound of the 4.7 litre V8.
So its all pretty standard fare – although comprehensively done – with the addition of the option of an ‘X-Ray’ view (as in the picture at the top) of the exterior if you so desire.
The Maserati GranCabrio isn’t going to trouble the real top-end cabrios in terms of performance, but its 4.7 litre V8 will provide adequate performance. Interestingly, Maserati still hasn’t confirmed 0-60mph for the GranCabrio. They’re admitting it’s good for 175mph, but seem reluctant to tell us how quickly it gets there.
Still, who wants to set their hair on fire (or lose their toupee) trying to crack the quickest 0-60mph in a four seat cabrio?
