Mercedes start the tease for the 2014 S63 AMG

With the 2014 Mercedes S 63 expected to make a debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, Mercedes are starting the tease with a short video.

The 2014 Mercedes S Class has already made its debut, at least in ‘standard’ guise, but there’s a lot more to come.

There’s the S-Class Coupe – which will replace the current CL – and there’s the new S-Class Pullman – which will replace the Maybach.

But the next instalment for the new S-Class will be the performance S63 AMG, which we’re expecting to arrive at Frankfurt in a couple of months, and ahead of that Mercedes is starting to tease its arrival.

That may sound familiar, because Mercedes has already teased the S63 when they trumpeted the start of production for the new S-Class in June, but that was an inadvertent tease when footage Mercedes released clearly showed an S63 running down the production line.

But this time Mercedes are intending to tease the S63, even if they don’t mention it by name.

So we get a short – just 17 seconds long, with half being the intro and outro – video showing bits of the S63 from the carbon on the dash to the more aggressive bumper and even the V8 Biturbo badge on the wings, plus a bit of a V8 burble going on.

That V8 burble should be coming from the Mercedes 5.5 litre V8 biturbo and probably deliver something north of 560bhp from a newly tweaked setup.

But we’ll no doubt learn more as Mercedes continues to tease the S63 ahead of its reveal. Which they undoubtedly will.
