It’s Christmas Day, a time to finally relax and take a day off to be with family and friends. So may we wish you a very Merry Christmas from all at Cars UK.
Yes, Christmas is here, and Christmas Day is the one day of the year we don’t work to bring you all the latest car news and reviews, so all you’ll get from us today is a heartfelt very Merry Christmas from all at Cars UK.
As we’ve done for many years, out Christmas image is Bernie Ecclestone’s Christmas card.
Last Christmas, Bernie managed to avoid his various legal issues and took the opportunity to take the Michael out of the various disagreements in the F1 circus. But this year it’s the other way round.
Despite the 2014 F1 season being one that’s had even more issues than years gone by – from the new engines to the bankruptcy of smaller teams – Bernie decided the subject of his 2014 Christmas card should be his bribery case.
Bernie is pictured holding a sack of money containing $100 million, exactly the figure he paid to make his court case disappear. The highwayman alongside him says: “This is not a robbery. I am collecting for the Bavarian state”, a reference to the ‘fine’ Bernie paid.
Inside the card, Bernie quips “Maybe now we can have a Formula One race in the really nice city of Munich, Germany?”.
No doubt Bernie will be having a very merry Christmas this year after a 2014 that saw him clear up his legal problems and get his seat back at CVC, and hopefully you, dear reader, had a successful 2014 too.
So eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we’ll be back.
Merry Christmas!
