Mountune launches new Tuning Brand for Volkswagen Performance

Mountune is expanding its reach from For tuning to take on Volkswagen tuning in partnership with US Wheel company fifteen52.

Brentwood-based Mountune is renowned as the tuner of choice for performance hungry punters who want a boost for their Ford but without wrecking the warranty.

But being a Ford approved performance fettler is clearly not enough for Mountune, so they’ve teamed up with US wheel specialists fifteen52 to create a new Performance Brand – Mountune52 – to deliver similar performance upgrades to VWs.

At launch the new company will deliver upgrades for the Mk7 / 7.5 Golf GTI and Mk7 / 7.5 Golf R, as well as some fifteen52 wheel options.

The X3 complete induction kit offers a boost for the Golf GTI of 78bhp and 70lb/ft of torque – enough to knock nearly a second of its 0-62mph time – and the Golf R gets and extra 60bhp and 78lb/ft of torque with a quoted o-62mph of 3.7 seconds. There’s also fettling of the DSG on offer too. Price is £795.

Other upgrades include just the induction kit, performance brakes, spring kits and selections of appropriate alloys as well as various merchandise.
