New Audi A1 Sportback – UK Prices and Specs
The new Audi A1 Sportback, revealed back in June, goes on sale in the UK with prices starting at £18,450 and just a single petrol engine option.
Audi revealed the new A1 back in June, and it’s now officially on sale in the UK from £18,450 with first customer deliveries actually due in the next week. Oddly.
The A1 Sportback is the only offering, and at launch there will be a similarly singular option to power the A1 too, with just Audi’s 116bhp 1.0 litre three cylinder turbo – which gets the new Audi moniker of 30 TFSI – on offer, with front-wheel drive and a choice of six-speed manual or seven-speed S tronic gearbox.
That said, Audi do say there are more engine options to come with a 94bhp version of the 1.0 litre (25 TFSI), a 1.5 litre turbo with 148bhp (35 TFSI) and a 197bhp 2.0 litre turbo (40 TFSI) to follow next year.
Trim choice is a bit wider with SE, Sport and S-Line specs on offer, with all models coming with full digital instruments, as well as the S-Line Competition model, reserved for the 2.0 litre turbo engine when that arrives.
There will also be A1 S line Contrast Edition and S line Style Edition models next year using the S-Line spec as a base and adding vivid colours, sporty looks, 18″ wheels in bronze or black, dark LED tail lights and black Audi rings on the grille.
Inside, the pop-up infotainment screen is replaced by an MMI touchscreen derived from that in the A8 and, as already mentioned, all models get digital instruments, although only top spec models get the full fat 10.1″ display.
Safety kit includes Lane Departure, Pre-Sense, Adaptive Cruise, and Reversing Camera, and you can also tick boxes to get Park Assist and more.
Prices for the A1 1.0 litre 116bhp are £18,540 for the SE, £20,010 for the Sport and £21,660 for the S-Line, with a seven-speed S tronic ‘box adding £1,520.
