‘New’ Jaguar F-Type PROJECT 7 up for sale – at a Volvo dealer in Scotland
A ‘new’ Jaguar F-Type Project 7 – one of just 250 built – has turned up for sale at Volvo dealers in Scotland with a £170,000 price tag.
The Jaguar F-Type Project 7 was the first proper ‘SVO Special’ from Jaguar, turning up at Goodwood in 2014 for its first public showing in production guise. With a limited run of just 250 cars – and, we think, around 80 RHD examples – it showed where Jaguar could push the F-Type by making it more hardcore, more powerful and more dynamic.
It got a scooped fairing at the back – a nod to the D-Type – a new body kit, a big front and great big rear spoiler, lots of carbon fibre, and a makeshift roof in a bag in case it rains.
Under the skin there’s carbon ceramic brakes, torque vectoring, 20″ Storm alloys, bigger anti-roll bars, new springs and dampers and 567bhp from its 5.0 litre supercharged V8. It cost from £130,000.
Now, three years after the production project 7 was announced – and two years after Jaguar started building it – a new car (well, with just a few hundred miles) has turned up for sale in, of all places, a Volvo dealers in Scotland.
Clelands, the Volvo dealer, is advertising the Project 7 – finished in Ultra Blue with a white number decal on the side – for £170k, which is £40k more than the original starting price.
Clelands are calling the Project 7 an investment opportunity, and if they get £170k for it we guess they’ve proved it.
So if you missed out on a Project 7, and don’t mind a bit of a Premium, you’ll need to head for Galashiels.
