How disappointing, a nice looking car but definitely not a JAG. Jaguar are making a huge mistake by losing the classic XJ styling, I agree with the other writer, Jags should look British, this looks like a Ford or perhaps a Chinese copy of a Ford. I am sure it is a super car to drive and with all the usual refinements but it doesn’t look like it should and for Jag enthusiasts that is key. I am progressing up the ladder of XJs not having the finances to afford a new one and have now made it up to a 2004 XJ8 Sport premium which looks like it should, it seems though that my progression will halt when I reach the last 2009 XJs, perhaps by then i will be able to afford and Aston!

VERY disappointing…certainly did not live up to the hype. A ‘British’ trademark, but an ‘American’ launch, with ‘American’ host, and even ‘American’ pronunciation from the ‘British’ company man. Clearly a car designed for the American market – with ‘American’ styling – and all that is wrong with that. Jaguar clearly think the credit crunch means that ‘the market’ is now only in America. BUT, Jaguar forget that the reason American’s bought Jaguars in the past was because the cars looked ‘British’ and not American. In short, a disaster for the British brand….but a triumph for American-Asian styling – which is not a compliment. The result looks like another Chinese rip-off.
