I know, we said that after the deluge of detail on the new Jaguar XJ over the last few weeks – and particularly at the end of last week – that there wouldn’t be as much about the XJ for a while. After all, we’ve said pretty much all there is to say and until we get our hands on one, so there’s not much more to say.
But all the photos of the new XJ and the huge detail of what’s on offer are no substitute for seeing the new XJ in the flesh. We had reservations about the XJ from what we’d seen prior to launch, but our opinion on the new XJ was cemented by seeing it for real; sitting in it; viewing it from every angle. It’s a corker.
Salon Privé has just announced that the UK public début for the new XJ will take place next week at the event at the Hurlingham Club in Fulham. Which admittedly is not the cheapest gig in town, put it is a great event. Offering the pick of the world’s supercars and classic cars – 50 Supercars and 60 Classic Cars – at the wonderful Hurlingham Club, set in 42 acres of lawned gardens just a few minutes from the centre of town.
But its’ not just the new Jaguar XJ that gets to have its public début at Salon Privé, Others include the first public showing of the Aston Martin One-77 and the Veritas RS III Debut.
At £125 a ticket it’s not cheap, but you do get to be up close and personal with some of the greatest cars in the world, and there’s endless Champagne and grub included in the price.
Think of it as a ‘Supercar Garden Party’ and you’ll get the idea.
Salon Privé takes place from 21st – 24th July.
