New Land Rover Defender on the way from BOWLER
Bowler, best known as builders of extreme versions of the iconic Land Rover Defender, tease the arrival of a new Bowler for the road.
Bowler do make the most extreme takes on the Land Rover Defender, but unlike many ‘modifiers’ of Land Rover products, Bowler’s offerings are so special Land Rover and Bowler created a brand partnership six years ago.Now it seems Bowler are looking to cash-in on their reputation for extreme off-road blatters with a new road car, and have been busy teasing a short video of what is clearly a Land Rover Defender lookalike, but one based on Bowler’s technology.
Bowler aren’t saying anything much about the new car, but they do say it’s set to be revealed in October – which we guess could be at the Paris Motor Show – and will be built on Bowler’s Cross Sector Platform, already used to good effect on the Bowler Bulldog.
What the video does suggest, judging by its soundtrack, is a V8 lurking under the bonnet, a V8 which could well be more powerful than the 400bhp V8 found under Land Rover’s last hurrah Defender V8 Works. The Bowler car will also handle far better than the V8 Works does.
Perhaps the most interesting prospect is that this new road car from Bowler could come with a 6×6 configuration, something Bowler does have in its arsenal of tricks.
No doubt more will be revealed shortly.
