New Lotus Evora GT430 is Lotus’s most powerful car
The Lotus Evora GT430 has been revealed a a limited run Evora – just 60 being built – with 430bhp from its 3.5 litre supercharged engine. Costs £112,500.
The new Lotus Evora GT430 is the most powerful road car Lotus have ever built. Which makes it a very appealing prospect. But the question you need to ask yourself is “What would you rather have, a Lotus Evora GT430 or a Porsche 911 GT3?” Because they cost the same. Actually, if you bought the Porsche you’d still have enough for a weekend away.
Yes, Lotus has pitched the Evora 430GT at the same price as the 911 GT3 which, for anything other than a proper Lotus fan is probably a bit steep. Still, you do get a special Evora for your money.
That special Evora means a boost in power to 430bhp from the Evora’s 3.5 litre Supercharged V6 as well as new aerodynamic bodywork with new carbon fibre panels, bigger air intakes on the front apron, a new carbon fibre splitter and vents on the front wheel arches.
Other changes include ducts behind the wheels to reduce pressure in the wheel arches, a new diffuser and a big back wing – all helping to create 250kg of downforce – and a set of 20″ alloys at the back (19″ at the front).
Upgrades include a gearbox cooling system, titanium exhaust, low inertia single-mass flywheel and new limited slip diff, with the interior getting leather and Alcantara (or just one or the other if you prefer), carbon fibre and splashes of red.
If you feel like splashing £112,500 on the most powerful car Lotus makes, we’re sure your Lotus dealer will be delighted to flog you one of the 60 Evora 430GTs on offer.
