New Mercedes-AMG GLS 63
The new Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 arrives to top Mercedes’ GLS range, complete with seven seats and 603bhp from its 4.0 litre mild hybrid V8.
If you’re going to buy the huge Mercedes GLS, you might as well get the best GLS you can (well, at least until the Maybach GLS arrives later today) and grab the new Mercedes-AMG GLS 63, revealed at the Los Angeles Motor Show.Just like the new Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S, the GLS 63 gets AMG’s 4.0 litre twin-turbo V8 with EQ Booster mild hybrid technology, producing 603bhp – that’s 100bhp for each of the six passengers in this seven-seat SUV.
Despite its enormous size, that 603bhp and 627lb/ft of torque is enough to shift the GLS 63 towards the horizon in quick sticks, hitting 62mph in 4.2 seconds and on to 174mph if you opt for the AMG Driver Pack, with variable four-wheel drive able to to send up to 100 per cent of that power to the back wheels once you’re on the move.
Standard kit includes AMG Ride Control+ with three-mode adaptive damping giving a lower ride height above 75mph in comfort and from the off in Sport modes.
Cosmetic titivations are as you’d expect, with a bigger AMG grille with chrome louvres, new front apron and splitter, flared wheelarches and rear duffuser, with AMG badges and AMG instruments inside.

Imagine it – 174mph with the Missus and five screaming brats in tow!!!
