New Mercedes GLC teased one last time on video
The new Mercedes GLC – a replacement for the Mercedes GLK and due to debut on 17 June – is teased one last time before its arrival.
We’ve had a recent tease for the Mercedes GLC, the replacement for the GLK which, this time round, will be available in the UK and in RHD.But we thought, with its debut due tomorrow afternoon (June 17 2015), we’d seen all there is to see of Mercedes’ new SUV ahead of its reveal. But Mercedes had different plans.
Today, we get a new, rather short, video of the GLC, showing lots of detail images of the interior and exterior on a car that’s only lightly camouflaged.
It’s clear that Mercedes are keen to make the GLC seem rufty tufty, as the action is rather wet and muddy, even if most will be bought as family cars. But what we do see is a car that’s more appealing to look at – inside and out – than the old GLK; in essence, a Mercedes GLE on a boil wash.
Looking very much like serious competition for the BMW X3, the GLC is stacking up to be a far more effective competitor in the compact SUV stakes than the GLK ever was, with more appealing styling, an interior that looks like the C-Class and technology and dynamics that promise to be far more appealing.
We’ll learn exactly what the GLC has to offer tomorrow.
