New Mercedes S-Class Coupe goes on sale in the UK

The 2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe goes on sale in the UK, starting at £104,115 for the S560 Coupe an d rising to £189,615 for the AMG S65 Coupe.

Mercedes revealed the 2018 S-Class Coupe last month (as well as the new S-Class Cabriolet), and the Coupe is now on sale in the UK with prices starting at £104,115.

That £104,115 is for the S 560 Coupe AMG Line – the entry-level model in the UK – which comes with Mercedes’ 4.0 litre turbo V8 good for 0-62mph in 4,6 seconds and, officially at least, economy of 34mpg.

It comes as standard with wireless phone charging, air suspension, Comand Online, 12.3″ dash and infotainment screens, Magic Vision wipers, Intelligent Light System, Panoramic Roof, Keyless Go, Memory Package, ambient lighting, Burmester Sound, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Another £23,900 buys you the pick of Mercedes S-Class Coupe offerings – the AMG S 63 – which gets over 600bhp from its 4.o litre V8 turbo, hits 62mph in 4.2 seconds and promises 31.7mpg.

In addition to the S 560, the S 63 gets Mercedes’ Seat Comfort Package with massaging, Driving Assistance Package, AMG Sport exhaust and suspension, AMg Sports seats, AMG Panamerica grille and 20″ alloys.

Thus ends the ‘sensible’ S-Class Coupe options, but if you really have more money than you know what to do with, and you can’t see the point of the (cheaper) V12 Aston Martin DB11 or W12 Bentley Continental GT, Mercedes has the answer with the AMG S 65 Coupe.

For £189,615 you get a V12 with 625bhp which can get you to 62mph in 0.1s quicker than the S 63 and offers economy of 23.7mpg. Although you’ll often struggle to hit double figures.

The S 65 Coupe comes with Mercedes’ Energizing Comfort Package, Magic Body Control, Warmth Comfort Package, Night View Assist Plus, Air Balance Package, 360° camera, HUD, Burmester Sound and Swarovski crystals for the ILS.

On sale in the UK now, the new S-Class Coupes will arrive in customer hands at the start of 2018.
