NEW Porsche Panamera hits the Goodwood hillclimb
The new 2017 Porsche Panamera has appeared at the Goodwood Festival of Speed going up the hillclimb in the hands of actor Patrick Dempsey.
Just two days ago we got a leak of the first photos of Porsche’s all new Panamera ahead of its reveal on Tuesday (28 June), but if you wanted to know just what the new Panamera looks like in the flesh you needed to be at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend.
Fortunately, Porsche not only let the new Panamera Turbo up the Goodwood hillclimb in the relatively capable hands of actor Patrick Dempsey (who is a bit handy behind the wheel), but they also managed to take their video cameras along so we could all see what the new Panamera looks like.
After the leak of photos on Friday the sight of a more elegant, cohesive Panamera going up the hillclimb is no surprise, and even if Porsche has stuck black tape on bits of the lighting at the front and back, it’s clear enough the new Panamera addresses the moans about the ugliness of its predecessor.
Juts like the leaked photos, the Panamera at Goodwood is the Panamera Turbo, so it’s at or near the top of the range and comes complete with Porsche’s new twin turbo 4.0 litre V8 which, we’re guessing, will deliver anything up to 600bhp – depending on model.
That’s the sort of detail we’ll get when Porsche finally delivers all the details of the 2017 Panamera on Tuesday.
