New Renault Clio on sale in the UK – prices and specs announced
The new Renault Clio, revealed in January before a debut at Geneva, goes on sale in the UK with prices starting from £14,295.
The starting price for the new Clio is a not unreasonable £14,295, which buys you the Clio Play SCe 75 (although it’s not available until October), rising to £20,295 for the R.S. Line TCe 130 EDC.
Engine options at launch are a pair of petrols and a single diesel, with the petrol offerings the TCe 100 delivering 99bhp and coming with a five-speed manual (a seven-speed CVT is available from October), and the TCe 130 with 128bhp and seven-speed DCT ‘box.
The diesel offering in the new Clio is the dCi85 which, say Renault, is good for 78.5mpg and comes fitted with a six-speed manual gearbox.
Still to come is the SCe75 three-pot with 71bhp (in October) and, from mid-2020, a new hybrid option with 1.6 litre petrol engine, multi-mode gearbox and a pair of electric motors powered by a 1.2kWh battery.
There are four trim options – Clio Play, Clio Iconic, Clio S Edition and Clio R.S. Line – with the Clio Play (from £14,295) getting LEd headlights, Air Con, Cruise, DAB, Driver Assistance, 16″ wheels and electric front windows, and the Clio Iconic (from £15,295) adding 7″ touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Sat Nav, Keyless card, rear parking sensors, 16″ alloys, LED Fogs and privacy glass.
The Clio S Edition (price TBC) goes further with 7″ TFT instruments and 9.3″ touchscreen, Climate, auto lights and wipers, 17″ alloys, shark fin antenna and a light grey interior.
Finally, the Clio R.S. Line (from £17,795) adds titivations from Renault Sport Models, R.S. Line interior, Multi Sense Drive modes and a rear view camera and front parking sensors.
The new Renault Clio is now on sale at Renault’s UK dealers, with customer cars due in October.
