New Renault Kadjar SUV should be cheap to lease

The new Renault Kadjar SUV – sister to the Nissan Qashqai – should be cheap to lease after CAP awarded the Kadjar best-in-class residual values.
When it comes to acquiring a new car, it’s not just companies that choose some form of lease; more and more private buyers are going the same route. So high residual values become an important factor when it’s a lease type sale, as its the interest on the total plus the amount the car depreciates over the period of the agreement that sets the monthly payments. And the new Renault Kadjar SUV looks like it should be a low-cost lease buy thanks to residual value figures from CAP that rank the Kadjar as the best-in-class.
Over three years and 60,000 miles, the Kadjar is expected to retain 43 per cent of its original value, a figure that’s some three points better than any of its competitors, and with some of the Kadjar’s competition retaining just 25 per cent over the same period, the headline monthly prices should make the Kadjar an appealing buy.
Add in the low insurance banding – 14E to 18E – four models with sub 100g/km emissions and at least 50mpg from all but one model, and the Kadjar looks an appealing family runaround at a sensible price. The Kadjar’s spec looks decent enough too.
The Renault Kadjar can be ordered from Renault’s UK dealers from July.
