The new Renault Scenic and Grand Scenic – revealed earlier in 2016 – go on sale in the UK on December 1 with prices starting at £21,445.
It’s almost nine months since the new Renault Scenic was revealed (and almost six months since its big brother, the new Renault Grand Scenic, put in an appearance), but it seems Renault is now just about ready to let their new cars loose in the UK, with both models going on sale on December 1 priced rom £21,445 for the Scenic and £23,375 for the Grand Scenic. Both of Renault’s new Scenics move away from their MPV roots with new styling which is more Crossover/SUV than MPV, and Renault has fitted 20″ alloys across the whole range to make them more purposeful looking.
Engine choice are a pair of petrols – the 1.2 TCe with either 113bhp or 128bhp – and a trio of diesels – 1.5 dCi with 108bhp and 1.5 dCi with 128bhp (manual) or 158bhp (EDC), but by spring 2017 there will also be a hybrid version using the 108bhp diesel with an electric motor and 48v electrics complete with energy recovery and the promise of 92g/km and 80.7mpg.
Trim levels for the Scenic and Grand Scenic are the familiar Expression+, Dynamique Nav, Dynamique S Nav and Signature Nav, with even entry-level cars getting climate, DAB, auto lights and wipers, Bluetooth, touchscreen infotainment, Visio Active Safety and active emergency braking.
Move up to Dynamique Nav (prices from £22,945/24,875) and you get interior ambience modes (really), Sat Nav, parking sensors, walkaway lock, sliding centre console with more storage, Arkamys Sound, picnic tables and puddle lights.
The Dynamique S Nav moves things on with a bigger 8.7″ touchscreen, R-Link2 multimedia and heads-up, parking camera, panoramic glass roof, privacy glass and Bose sound. Prices from £24,945/£26,875.
Splash the cash for the range-topping Signature Nav Scenic models (£26,445/£28,375) and you’ll get leather seats, nappa leather steering wheel, electric front seats, LED headlights and cornering fogs.
The new Renault Scenic and Grand Scenic officially go on sale at Renault’s UK dealers on 1st December, with first customer cars expected before the end of the year.
