New Subaru Impreza Hatch revealed
The new Subaru Impreza – revealed as a saloon in New York last year – will debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show in European hatchback spec.
We weren’t entirely sure that the latest Subaru Impreza was actually going to arrive in the UK, especially as it’s more than a year since Subaru revealed the new Impreza at the 2016 New York Motor Show, and it’s shown no signs of bringing it across the Pond. Until now.But now Subaru has revealed a couple of photos of the European spec, five-door hatchback take on the new Impreza and announced it will get its public debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. So we must assume it’s heading for the UK.
Sitting on Subaru’s new Global Platform as the new Subaru XV Crossover, the new Impreza is much stiffer than the old model, with a lower centre of gravity for improved dynamics and an extra inch in the wheelbase for more cabin space.
The Subaru Boxer engines continue, both petrol and diesel, and the new Impreza comes with Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system.
Inside, the Impreza goes more upmarket, with more high quality materials, 6.5″ infotainment screen, tech like android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and even Subaru’s new suite of ‘EyeSight’ driver assist tech.
Full specs for the UK and Europe take on the new Impreza will be revealed shortly.
