New Tesla Roadster may be able to FLY, claims Musk
Elon Musk, Tesla’s’ barking billionaire’ owner, now seems to be claiming that the new Tesla Roadster – if it ever arrives – may be able to fly.
When the new Tesla Roadster was unveiled last week (well, some sort of cobbled together prototype) we did question how real it was.Was the prospect of a new 250mph Tesla Roadster – capable of getting to 60mph in 1.9 seconds – actually a viable option for Tesla, or was it a diversionary tactic from Tesla’s woes with the Model 3 – and an easy way to grab deposits?
Since the Roadster first appeared, Elon Musk has announced that the figures he quoted for the Roadster’s performance were actually just for the base model, and that there would also be a “Special options package” which will take the Roadster “To the next level”.
Now, in a Tweet, Musk has declared that the “Special Options Package” may mean the Roadster can actually fly. Yes, fly.
Not saying the next gen Roadster special upgrade package *will* definitely enable it to fly short hops, but maybe …
Certainly possible. Just a question of safety. Rocket tech applied to a car opens up revolutionary possibilities.

It’s true to say that flying cars has been on the radar for some time – and may become a reality – but it does seem Musk is intent on promising a fantasy in return for more cash from the markets to continue to pursue a dream, a dream which looks ever closer to turning in to a nightmare.
