The new Toyota Aygo City Car – sister car to the French duo of Peugeot 108 and Citroen C1 – is teased in a single photo ahead of a Geneva Motor Show debut.

We’ve already had the arrival of the new Peugeot 108, so a new Toyota Aygo wasn’t going to be far away.
Beyond that, we’re guessing the Aygo won’t change much in size – the Peugeot 108 hasn’t – and that Toyota will probably try and push the new Aygo a bit more upmarket, although we doubt they’ll try to fill the gap left by the demise of the Aston Martin Cygnet.
Toyota say the design theme for the new Aygo was ‘J-Playful’, with the aim of bringing a new degree of fun and playfulness to the A-segment.
Toyota Chief Designer David Terai said:
What I wanted to make was a car that stands out in a Japanese way, in order to capture the imagination of customers all-around Europe. So I let myself be inspired by today’s Japanese youth-culture.
So, the new Toyota will be funkier, around the same size as the current Aygo, debut at Geneva and offer a more upmarket experience too.
Probably.
