Nissan has announced that their sport take on the Juke – the Nissan Juke Nismo – will cost from £19,995 and is the first of a new Nismo range.
Nissan revealed the first of its new Nismo range of sport takes on production models – the Juke Nismo – at the Paris Motor Show in September (although it did run it out at Le Mans in June too) and now it’s come up with a price for it compact sporty SUV – £19,995.
For your £20k you’ll get a new sporty Juke with an extra 10 horses thanks to a tweak or three to the 1.6 litre petrol engine in the Juke DIG-T, which means a total of 197bhp, 0-62mph in 7.8 seconds and 135mph. Not exactly up there with the Juke R, but more than enough to blat properly round an urban landscape.
There may not be extra power in abundance, but Nissan has still had a pley with the Juke Nismo’s suspension, with 10 per cent stiffer springs and different settings for better traction and more feel for the steering.
Cosmetically, the Juke Nismo gets Nismo badges and a new body kit (which includes new lower bumpers, wider sills, wider wings and a new grill and tailgate spoiler) with red door mirrors and a matching red pinstripe down the side. The extra efficiency of the bodykit means economy stays unchanged from the Juke DIG-T at 40.9mpg.
Inside, the Juke Nismo gets suede-trimmed Nismo seats with red stitching and big bolsters, Alcantara and leather steering wheel, black centre console and red for the gauges, gearknob and gaiter.
The 2013 Nissan Juke Nismo is available to order from January at Nissan’s UK dealers with first customer cars due in March.
